Summary
Unfair Rock Paper Scissors is an experiment designed to show that, even if a game is unbalanced, the nuances of human psychology can still make every option interesting and viable.
The game is mostly identical to standard Rock Paper Scissors, with two major changes. The first change is the introduction of a point system - players are awarded one point for choosing whichever option counters their opponent’s, and if both players choose the same option (resulting in a tie), they both get one point. The game is won by having ten or more points, though if both players gain ten points at the same time via a tie, then play will continue until one player has more points than the other. The second change is that Rock awards two points instead of one, making it objectively superior to the other options and, therefor, unfair.
However, due to the value of Rock, Paper becomes that much more appealing, which in turn ensures that Scissors is still a viable option. By introducing a bit of unfairness, Rock Paper Scissors goes from a boring series of mostly random guesses to an intense psychological battle.
